Man in Grave Condition After Assault Outside Barney’s Beanery in Pasadena

The incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. Monday and the perpetrator has not been found.

A 25-year-old Los Angeles man is hospitalized in grave condition after being assaulted outside Barney’s Beanery (99 E. Colorado Blvd) in Pasadena after midnight Monday.

At about 12:30 a.m. the man was approached and hit by another man, who police believe did not know him, fell to the ground and hit his head on the concrete, Pasadena Police Lieutenant Thomas Delgado told Patch Monday morning.

The suspect has not been found and was only described as a heavyset Hispanic male, said Delgado.

Police believe the incident is related to a disturbance at nearby ix-tapa Cantina that was reported earlier in the evening, resulting in people being thrown out of the restaurant and club.

The victim’s identity is not being disclosed until his family is notified.
