Man Arrested on Suspicion of Starting Brush Fire in Pasadena

A man was arrested Thursday night after witnesses said he started a small brush fire in Pasadena.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the 100-square-foot fire, which was set around 9 p.m. in the area of Sierra Madre Villa and New York Drive, said Pasadena police Lt. Vasken Gourdikian.

The suspect, whose name and age were not made available, was taken into custody soon after the fire was reported, Gourdikian said.

There were no injuries nor structures threatened, Gourdikian said.
