Coolhaus Pasadena Opens Friday

After many months of anticipation from the community and some delays, Coolhaus--the food truck known for its cookie ice cream sandwiches--will soft open its brick and mortar location in Old Town Pasadena on Colorado Blvd. at noon Friday.

The opening coincides with National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, by the way.

Nestled near Intelligentsia and Umami near Fair Oaks Avenue, Coolhaus' Pasadena location was set to open months ago until the space began being considered as a multi-vendor upscale food court of sorts.

Coolhaus CEO Natasha Case, who was readying the shop for its Friday debut on Thursday night, told Patch she didn't know what other vendors might be in the space at some point but that apparently 35 or so had applied.

Case said it's been exciting to get people coming by asking when the shop is going to open and that their Pasadena location has the advantage of foot traffic that their Culver City shop lacks.

Coolhaus Pasadena will serve custom and pre-made ice cream sandwiches, shakes made with their cookies, scoops of ice cream, slow drip and cold brewed coffee and more, Case noted.

Their grand opening is Aug. 9 and the shop hopes to debut their rose ice cream at that time, which they want to keep as a staple in honor of the Pasadena location.
