Rose Court: A Crowning Moment for Teen Royalty (Video)
Pasadena Tournament of Roses President Sally Bixby crowned the 95th Rose Queen on Thursday.
Partly nervous, partly excited, but totally poised, Pasadena teen Vanessa Manjarrez stood statue still -- only cheeks quivering -- as she was crowned the 2013 Rose Queen for the Tournament of Roses Association.
The 17-year-old Mayfield Senior School student clutched a bouquet of long stem red roses and walked the runway at the Pasadena Convention Center Thursday, as a crowd of hundreds applauded the city's latest ambassador.
"I take pride in the full meaning of being a rose queen. I accept the responsibility and trust it holds,'' she said.
