Pasadena Officials Consider Narrowing Colorado Blvd.

The proposal mirrors a recent efforts in nearby Eagle Rock to make the famed boulevard more pedestrian friendly.

Pasadena officials are considering narrowing parts of Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena by as much as two lanes and using the extra space to widen sidewalks and create little parks parks with seating and greenery, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times

The proposed project has wide support among city leaders and is expected to go before the City Council soon, according to the report.

The idea is similar to recent efforts in nearby Eagle Rock, where two lanes of traffic on Colorado were removed in favor of bike lanes and new crosswalks, with more improvements still in the works.
