Rose Bowl USC/UCLA Game Ahead: Traffic & Parking Tips

The Pasadena Police Department shared the following information and tips for the UCLA/USC game being held at the Rose Bowl on Saturday:

The Rose Bowl Stadium will host UCLA’s home game against USC on Saturday, November 17, as the largest expected fan attendance game of the season will be played for a Noon (PT) kick-off. Fans should anticipate heavy traffic with an early kick-off and it is strongly recommended you arrive at the stadium by 9 a.m. to avoid delays. Please consider carpooling or shuttle buses as part of your planning to assist to alleviate your travel time.

Nearly 90,000 fans are expected to converge onto the Rose Bowl Stadium and it is imperative that fans take note of the following information:

General parking is located north of the Rose Bowl Stadium on the Brookside Golf Course and sold on game day only, for $20 per car.
All parking lots open six (6) hours prior to kick-off. Heavy traffic, congested streets and delays are anticipated around the stadium.

All general parking is north of the stadium on two 18-home golf courses. Attempting to get to the stadium via the City streets will be difficult. Please refrain from using GPS or Internet printed directions as they do not take into account traffic conditions or where the available parking is located. The Pasadena Police Department and Rose Bowl Stadium officials strongly recommended that patrons without parking passes enter the available parking lots from north of the Rose Bowl Stadium as follows:

From Downtown Los Angeles via the 110 Freeway
Take the 110 North; then take I-5 North to Sacramento; then take the 2 North to Glendale; the 210 East to Pasadena; exit at any of the three exits: Berkshire/Oak Grove, Arroyo Blvd/Windsor or Lincoln Ave/Washington Blvd. Follow the "Rose Bowl" signs or as directed by traffic control personnel.

From the West via the 101/134 Freeway
Take the 134 East towards Pasadena; then take the 2 north; to the 210 East to Pasadena; exit at any of the three exits: Berkshire/Oak Grove, Arroyo Blvd/Windsor or Lincoln Ave/Washington Blvd. Follow the "Rose Bowl" signs or as directed by traffic control personnel.

From the North/San Fernando/Simi Valley
Take the 210 towards Pasadena; exit at any of the three exits: Berkshire/Oak Grove, Arroyo Blvd/Windsor or Lincoln Ave/Washington Blvd. Follow the "Rose Bowl" signs or as directed by traffic control personnel.

From the East, San Gabriel Valley, Inland Empire, San Bernardino or Orange County via the 210 Freeway
Take the 210 West to Pasadena; continue 210 West towards San Fernando; exit any of the three exits: Mountain Ave/Seco St, Lincoln Ave or Arroyo Blvd/Windsor Ave. Follow the "Rose Bowl" signs or as directed by traffic control personnel.

Parking Lot Policies: All general parking lots, to include RV parking, open six (6) hours prior to kick off. Overnight parking is prohibited, this includes overnight RV parking. All parking is first come, first parked. All parking lots close 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

As a convenience, it is strongly recommended that fans take advantage of free shuttle buses originating from Old Pasadena at Parsons Engineering, located at Union St and Delacey St. Shuttle buses begin running to the Rose Bowl Stadium beginning four (4) hours prior to kick off and continuing 90 minutes after the end of the game. Parking is available at Parsons Engineering, entrance at Union St at Delacey St, or in any nearby parking lot in Old Pasadena. Parking fees range up to $12 per car.

Carpooling is crucial. The small difference between four versus three people riding per car results in 8,000 fewer vehicles on the road, greatly streamlining traffic and parking.

Public transportation is a great alternative for getting to the game. Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO) Gold Line is available with the Memorial Park Station stop conveniently located two blocks from the free shuttle to the Rose Bowl Stadium. Please visit www.metro.net and search “Gold Line” for light rail information. Fans wishing to use the Metro Rail should take the Gold Line to Memorial Park Station (Holly and Arroyo Parkway) – two blocks from the Parsons Engineering shuttle lot. All shuttles buses are wheel chair accessible.

Disabled parking is available at a various locations at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Disabled parking is based on first come first parked. All disabled vehicles must display a valid State of issuance disabled placard and registration upon entering these lots, as all ID’s and placards will be checked and verified by a police officer. Disabled parking is also available at Parsons Engineering Parking Lot, located at the Union St and De Lacey St parking lot in Oldtown Pasadena. All shuttle buses are wheel chair accessible.
Tailgating is an enjoyable part of the game day fan experience.

UCLA is committed to creating a fan-friendly environment that is safe for all to enjoy. For your safety and the enjoyment of all, we ask that all patrons observe established guidelines and rules, which can be found online at rosebowlstadium.com. Alcohol consumption is not permitted in the parking lots after kick-off. Any persons remaining in the parking lots consuming alcohol after the game starts may be cited.

In an effort to creating this game-day experience, we have worked closely with Los Angeles Sports Council, surrounding area teams, sports venues and law enforcement agencies, for the past two years to create the Southern California Fan Code of Conduct.
