MLK Day Closures in Pasadena

Find out what's closed in Pasadena on Martin Luther King Day

City Hall and many City services will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. 

Meanwhile, the Pasadena Fire and Police Departments will continue to be staffed during the holiday. Call 9-1-1 for any life-threatening emergencies.

For power emergencies, call the Pasadena Water and Power Department at (626) 744-4673 or (626) 744-4138 for water emergencies. PWP’s regular Customer Service Call Center will be closed for the holiday. However, customers can still pay their bills by phone at (626) 744-4005 or via the Web at www.PWPweb.com. The City’s Municipal Services Payment Center at City Hall will be closed.

Refuse and recycling collection will be delayed by one day during the week of Jan. 21-26. There will be no bulky item pickups on Monday, January 21. 

On Jan. 21, the City’s Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS) buses and Dial-A-Ride programs will be in full operation with no changes to regular service. All parking meters will be free on Jan. 21 and time limits will not be enforced. Parking meter enforcement resumes Jan. 22. Take Note: Violations for red curb parking and blocking fire hydrants will continue to be enforced.

All Pasadena Public Libraries will be closed Sunday, Jan. 20 and Monday, Jan. 21, with regular schedules resuming Jan. 22. 

All Community Centers operated by the City’s Human Services and Recreation Department will be closed. All parks will be open for picnics, fun and play, but no site reservations are accepted for the holidays.
