House Burns in Tuesday Night Fire

From City News Service

A vacant house about a mile north of the Tournament of Roses parade route was extensively damaged by fire tonight.

The fire on the 800 block of North Oakland Avenue was reported around 10 p.m. and knocked down by 20 firefighters within about 20 minutes, said Pasadena Fire Department Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian.

The fire damaged both the interior and attic of the single-family home, Derderian said.

The fire was met with a fast and substantial response, Derderian said.

"We have a lot of resources in the area," Derderian said, referencing preparations for Wednesday morning's parade.

The house had a wire fence around it, Derderian said.
