Mother, Kids Hospitalized After Fire in Pasadena Apartment Complex Sunday

The blaze is reported at about 5:20 p.m. in the 700 block of Worcester Avenue.

A mother and her three children were brought to the hospital Sunday evening after a fire at their apartment complex in Pasadena.

They were among more than 50 evacuated from the structure.

The fire broke out at an approximately 30-unit building in the 700 block of Worcester Avenue, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

Firefighters carried out the children, their mother and their father after the blaze spread upstairs to their third-floor unit, said Derderian.

The blaze, reported at 5:20 p.m., was under control by 5:45 p.m.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, said Derderian.

Red Cross volunteers will be working to find places for displaced residents to stay, some of whom have not yet returned home, said Derderian.
