Pasadena Police Conducting ‘Zero Tolerance’ DUI Saturation Patrol

The patrol will begin Saturday, following a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city Friday.

The Pasadena Police Department is beefing up DUI vigilance during the upcoming Cinco de Mayo weekend.

A , but the Pasadena PD also announced a “zero tolerance” DUI saturation patrol happening Saturday.

Saturday’s patrol will begin at 8 p.m. and last through 3 a.m.

“This enforcement operation will be in an effort to reduce and remove the number of impaired drivers traveling on city streets,” the City of Pasadena shared in a release.

Though announcing DUI patrols ahead of time may seem counterintuitive, law enforcement says research has shown a decrease in drunk driving when DUI patrols are well publicized prior to taking place.
