Candlelight Vigil Thursday for Victim of Christmas Shooting

Victor J. McClinton, an innocent bystander who gave back significantly to the community, was shot and killed in Pasadena on Christmas morning when someone opened fire at a passing car. A vigil will be held outside Pasadena City Hall Thursday night.

Christmas morning brought tragedy to Pasadena as 49-year-old Victor J. McClinton was gunned down while innocently caught in a shooting that involved at least one gang associate.

McClinton was a father, husband and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department employee who “gave back to the community unselfishly and worked unceasingly to positively impact the lives of thousands of youth,” according to a LASD statement. “He truly embodied what community should be and though this loss will be felt my many, his love and kindness will live on in each one of us.”

On behalf of the McClinton family, the Brotherhood Community Youth Sports League will hold a candlelight vigil in remembrance of the slain McClinton on Thursday night at 6 p.m. on the steps of Pasadena City Hall.
