Health & Fitness

Check your kids for this.

Somewhat out of the ordinary a woman brought her grandson to me for a chair massage at Whole Foods. In the booth walked a young maybe sixteen year old boy with his earplugs still lodged in his ears as his long lanky arms with firm hands clenched tightly onto his smart phone.

Once he removed his earphones and sat down for his massage it took several minutes just for his back to relax enough for his chest to press forward against the chair cushion. There was way too much knotted energy in his cervical spine (neck) and shoulders including lower back,  much like telephone wires that get tangled up and omit a distorted frequency, this is way too much energy congestion for a teenager to live with. So much in fact that it prompted me to write this article hoping parents out there really take notice of their teenager’s health during these long summer days and nights.

It means more time for kids to spend on   smart phones, computers and iPads. But more than that it means more time for your child to compromise their posture, unconsciously create an overload of congested energy in the neck that can ultimately lead to secondary issues of headaches and sinus problems.

I would like to send a message out there to parents as a massage therapist at Whole Foods Hastings Ranch. Bring your child in for a therapeutic chair massage and I will automatically deduct five dollars off your child’s twenty minute massage that could only do him or her a world of good.
