Arcadia Man Wins Event at North American Bridge Championship

Roger Lee of Arcadia, Calif., (pictured second from right) and his six-member squad won the 10K Swiss Teams event at the Spring North American Bridge Championship (NABC), one of 14 championship-level events held in Dallas from March 20 to 30.

 

Lee’s teammates (pictured left to right) included Tom Breed of Kingwood, Texas, David Grainger of Roseville, Calif., Janet Macchi of Statham, Ga., Ira Chorush of Houston, Texas, and Daniel Korbel of Ontario, Canada. After entering the contest in seventh place, the team finished with 124 points to the second-place team’s 123.75.

The NABCs are held three times a year across the U.S. and Canada to bring together players of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with opportunities for everyone to play daily. The 2014 summer and fall NABCs will be held in Las Vegas from July 17 to 27, and in Providence, R.I., from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7.
