Rose Parade: Honda Team to Hand Out Snuggie Blankets

Folks waiting curbside for the Rose Parade Monday night might get a warm, snuggly surprise from the Helpful Honda team.

The Helpful Guys in Blue will surprise thousands of curbside Rose Parade campers Monday night with complimentary blue Snuggie blankets from 9 p.m. to midnight, according to a press release from SoCal Honda dealers.

With temperatures expected to dip into the ‘40s on New Year’s eve, the snuggies will help keep parade goers stay warm as they reserve their spots along the 5.5 mile route.

With curbside viewing available on a first-come, first-served basis, crowds are expected to set up along the route Monday afternoon with an estimated 1 million people expected to attend the New Year’s day parade, which starts at 8 a.m.

Throughout the holiday season, the Helpful Guys in Blue have built bikes for children in San Bernardino, hosted holiday meals with gifts for hundreds of homeless locals in Pasadena and Santa Monica, and surprised deserving families in Anaheim with a visit from Santa, gift cards and a warm luncheon, the press release states. To-date the Guys in Blue have delivered random helpful acts of kindness to Southern California residents, such as pumping and paying for gas and providing umbrella escorts to people.
