Hamburger Hamlet in Pasadena Closes, Taken Over by Du-par's
The restaurant had been open for over 40 years.
After more than 40 years in business, Hamburger Hamlet in Pasadena closed last week and reopened on Saturday as a Du-par's Restaurant & Bakery, according to the Huffington Post.
The closing of the restaurant at 214 S Lake Ave. leaves only one Hamburger Hamlet left in the Los Angeles area, the one at 4419 Van Nuys Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. The first location was opened in 1950 in West Hollywood on the Sunset Strip, but it closed in 2011, according to Los Angeles Magazine. The chain still has two locations in the Washington D.C. area, and two express "XP" locations in Los Angeles in Larchmont and North Hollywood.
Several people took to Yelp to mourn the loss of Pasadena's Hamburger Hamlet:
