Several businesses along a busy street in Pasadena were evacuated when construction workers ruptured a one-inch gas line Sunday, a fire official said.

Approximately six residents from apartments and some businesses were forced to leave while a gas company crew made repairs, said Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department.

Authorities were notified of the leak at Lake Avenue and California Boulevard at 8:30 a.m., Derderian said. Gas company crews had the leak repaired at 12:30 p.m.
