6 Injured In Police Copter Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the collision.

At least six occupants of a Pasadena Police helicopter were injured when the landing aircraft appeared to have struck another copter about to take off.

The incident happened sometime around 4 p.m. at the Pasadena Police heliport located in the 2100 block of North Yucca Lane in Altadena. The occupants of the helicopter suffered minor injuries, according to local media reports.

Those injured were described as police personnel. The copter taking off was a police helicopter, while other chopper was an aircraft used to monitor traffic from the Rosebowl during the USC, UCLA game.

Those injured included two pilots, three observers and an officer on the ground, according to local media.

Officials have not yet returned calls for an update on the crash.
