New Year’s Eve for Kids at Kidspace Museum

The daytime celebration will include live music, crafts, streamers, sparkling cider and a balloon drop.

Many kids will probably be asleep by the time midnight on 2013 hits or at home since there aren’t many late-night celebrations geared toward a younger crowd.

Kidspace Children's Museum (480 N. Arroyo Boulevard) is stepping up and offering a “Noon Year’s Day” celebration from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday.

“Arrive early to make party hats and noise makers, dance to music and countdown to the ‘noon’ year at 12:00 noon,” Kidspace shared on their website. Streamers, sparkling cider, and a balloon drop are also in store.

Twinkle Time will give a special musical performance beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The event does not require registration but Kidspace advises arriving early to avoid admission lines. Also note that parking in the Rose Bowl area will take longer than usual due to Rose Parade float decorating activities from Dec. 26-31.

The museum will close early at 3 p.m. on Monday and the tricycle tracks will be closed the whole day. Kidspace is closed New Year’s Day.
