Crafts, Toys and Beauty Supplies Fill Final June Weekends at Convention Center

Fans of arts and crafts, Transformers and the latest beauty trends will all have the opportunity to enrich their hobbies or professions during June’s last two weekends at the Pasadena Convention Center.

More than 200 artisans, all carefully juried, will be on site for the Contemporary Crafts Market from June 20-22. Featuring the work of modern-day masters, the show will showcase unique hand-made jewelry, textiles, sculptural glass, furnishings, ceramics and other crafts on display and for sale. In addition, the artists who created the one-of-a-kind pieces will be on hand to discuss their work.

The show is open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. For more information, visit www.craftsource.org.

BotCon 2014, the official Transformers’ Collectors Convention, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Transformers when it visits the Convention Center June 21-22. Fans of all ages will be able to meet the voices behind the characters, talk with the Transformers brand team from Hasbro, buy Transformers toys from around the world and participate in various panels and seminars during a celebration of the iconic worldwide brand that has touched millions of lives over the past 30 years.

BotCon 2104 will be open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 5-17 and free for children 4 and younger. For more information, visit www.botcon.com.

Beauty professionals, students and anyone interested in the latest trends for hair and makeup will find the latest products and seminars at PHAME – the Professional Hair and Makeup Expo June 28-29. Considered the ultimate event for industry professionals, PHAMExpo will feature leading brands and artists, state-of-the-art products and the hottest new treatments under one roof. Local and national makeup artists, stylists and vendors fill the two-day schedule, showcasing cutting-edge technology and up-and-coming trends.
