Sheriff: No Safe Trail to Eaton Canyon's Second Waterfall

Another death and rescue at Eaton Canyon Friday prompted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to issue a warning about hiking in the area.

No safe route exists to the second waterfall at Eaton Canyon, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and Pasadena Fire Department warning, which follows the death of a 17-year-old girl and injuries suffered by an 18-year-old man who were hiking at the canyon on Friday.

“Don't believe the false information, said LASD in a statement. “There is NO safe trail to the second waterfall.”
