Major Injury Collision Ties Up the 210 Freeway In Pasadena

A big rig collided with a car earlier Saturday.

A driver suffered major injuries in a collision on the Interstate 210 freeway Saturday.

A yellow Ford Mustang collided with a white big rig on the westbound portion of the freeway at the Allen Avenue offramp around 12:06 p.m. The victim was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital, said Christian Cracraft of the California Highway Patrol.

The male driver of the Mustang was listed in critical condition, said Lisa Derderian, of the Pasadena Fire Department.

The off ramp was blocked by the collision and a Sig Alert was issued for over an hour as authorities worked to extricate the injured and move the vehicles and debris. At least one lane of the offramp is now open and the Sig Alert was officially cancelled just before 2 p.m., according to the CHP.
