Rose Bowl Winner in 2015 Playoff Will Head to Championship in Texas

Leaders of the College Football Playoff announce in Pasadena that title game will be played at Cowboys Stadium.

The first National Championship Game of the College Football Playoff will be played at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Jan. 12, 2015, Bill Hancock, the executive director of the College Football Playoff, announced in Pasadena today.

Hancock also announced that the Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Chick-fil-A Bowl have been selected to be part of the six-bowl rotation that will host College Football Playoff semifinal games, with each bowl hosting a national semifinal once every three years.

It was announced in January that the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl will host semifinal games in the first year of the College Football Playoff on Jan. 1, 2015 and the Orange Bowl will host a semifinal in the second year.

The Cotton Bowl will also host a semifinal in the second year and the Fiesta Bowl and Chick-fil-A Bowl in the third year.

Commissioners of the NCAA's major Division I conferences are meeting in Pasadena to work on the details of the College Football Playoff, which will first be used in the 2014 season.
